DBasia.news – The Belgian striker, Divock Origi, became the determinant to Liverpool’s win when playing at St James Park, the headquarters of Newcastle United, in the 37th continuing Premier League, Sunday (5/5) WIB. Origi is happy to help Liverpool win.
Liverpool struggled to beat Newcastle. In fact, the match had run with a score of 2-2 after Christian Atsu and Salomon Rondon recorded their names on the scoreboard. Meanwhile, two goals from the Reds were scored by Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.
When the match was predicted to end in a draw, Divock Origi appeared as a hero. Xherdan Shaqiri’s free kick was immediately struck by Origi two minutes before the match ended.
“I am thrilled and scored before the end of the match. I am happy for the team. We work very hard and this is an important part of the 2018-2019 season,” said Origi as reported by Socceway.
“Also for Mohamed Salah who was pulled out. We felt like we had to fight to get three points. In the end, we showed fighting spirit,” continued the player.
“There is a lot of emotions, but we have to control it. It’s very fun. It’s a special season and we have done it very well, but we can still finish it with a title,” said Origi.
“Let’s see how the match remains. We will do everything to win the match, and hopefully we win our way.”
With that result, Liverpool returned to the top of the standings by collecting 94 points. Jurgen Klopp’s side are two points adrift of Manchester City who will play on Tuesday (7/5) WIB.
