Djibril Cisse Ready to Comeback Unpaid to Reach 100 Goals

Djibril Cisse recently revealed his desire to play again in Ligue 1. He claimed not to be calm because he could not fulfill his collection of goals in the top caste of the French League to 100 pieces.

“You know how a goalscorer is. We really like goals. We also like achieving milestones; 25, 50, 75 … For me, a milestone of 100 goals that continues to interfere. I’ve scored 96 goals and stopped,” Djibril Cisse said as quoted by So Foot.

The player who is now 38 years old added, “I’m still lacking 4 goals and it bothers me. That drives me crazy! I want to go back to Ligue 1 to get it. If there is a club that wants to, I will join in two or three months.”

Realizing he would be a very risky transfer because he was aging with a history of severe injuries, Djibril Cisse revealed preparedness was not paid. According to him, his motivation was purely only chasing four goals, not money.

“I’m ready to go back and play for free, without getting paid, so there is no risk for them. For the time being, I haven’t talked to anyone. However, I hope that a club will come,” said Cisse again.

Until now, Djibril Cisse has appeared in 209 matches in Ligue 1 with a notch of 96 goals. A total of 70 goals were scored with AJ Auxerre in the period 1998 to 2004. The rest, 24 goals with Olympique Marseille in 2006-09 and 2 goals with Bastia in 2013-15.

The last time Djibril Cisse went down in the Ligue 1 stage on May 23, 2015. At that time, he appeared for 9 minutes when Bastia lost 0-3 to Marseille. He dropped as a substitute for Gael Danic in the 81st minute.
