DBasia.news – Gianluigi Donnarumma will be the main goalkeeper at Paris Saint-Germain under new coach Christophe Galtier.
The 23-year-old Italian player left AC Milan on a free transfer and was expected to make an immediate impact in Paris, but he only obtained 23 competitive games in his debut season.
Donnarumma kept 9 clean sheets in the 2021/22 season, but he was criticized for his error in the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.
Despite being only 23 years old, Donnarumma already has 46 senior caps for the Italian national team, having made his Italian Serie A debut for the Rossoneri at the age of 16.
Reported by Football Italia, along with the change of coach position at PSG, from Mauricio Pochettino to Galtier, Donnarumma also has the opportunity to replace Keylor Navas, who became the main goalkeeper last season.
According to Le Parisien, Galtier began work in a meeting with director Luis Campos on Thursday (30/6), and began by planning the team for the future.
That includes Donnarumma and Marco Verratti as first choice in the ideal XI line-up, joining Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe as well.
