Douglas Costa heads to Bayern Munich, Chiesa is one step away from Juventus

DBasia.news – Juventus have reportedly said goodbye to Douglas Costa and are one step away from the arrival of Federico Chiesa from Fiorentina.

Bayern were originally eyeing Callum Hudson-Odoi after recruiting Leroy Sane from Manchester City. However, Chelsea did not want to let him go until they turned to the former player who defended Juventus, Douglas Costa.

Costa (30 years old) rarely played at Andrea Pirlo’s Juventus and also last season with Maurizio Sarri. No doubt he chose to return to Bayern, which he strengthened in mid-2015 to 2018.

The Brazilian winger came to Bayern on loan, without a purchase option and also excluding loan fees. Bayern will only pay Douglas Costa’s full salary. He joined Hans-Dieter Flick’s team alongside the striker who was released by PSG, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

“Douglas Costa will leave Turin tomorrow morning to undergo a medical examination as a new Bayern Munich player. Simple loan, no purchase options, no loan fees to Juventus. Bayern will only pay his full salary. Also Choupo-Moting joined as a free agent,” said Fabrizio Romano.

Meanwhile for Juventus, the certainty of Costa’s departure convinced them to bring in Fiorentina young star, Federico Chiesa. Juventus are just a step away from recruiting him and are still negotiating with La Viola.

The details of the transfer, according to Romano, are a loan in the first season at a cost of two million euros, eight million euros in the second loan year, plus an obligation to purchase for 40 million euros, with other variables.

The news of the arrival of Enrico Chiesa’s son was expected, as Juventus wanted him but was waiting for news regarding Costa’s future. Chiesa (22 years old) a product of the Fiorentina academy was promoted in 2016 and collected 19 caps with the Italian national team.
