DBasia.news – Arsenal’s young striker, Eddie Nketiah (21 years old), confirmed that his relationship with midfielder Dani Ceballos (24 years old) was fine when the combination of the two won for the Gunners.
Nketiah and Ceballos were involved in an altercation last weekend when the pair warmed up with a small game with Arsenal’s reserve squad ahead of the kick-off against Fulham.
Ceballos appeared frustrated as he tried to grab the ball until he almost tackled the young forward. After this moment, Ceballos pushed Nketiah away.
It didn’t stop there, when the rondo session started again, Nketiah deliberately shot the ball hard at Ceballos.
The two of them also approached each other, seen to be shouting words to each other, and were almost involved in a fight if they were not separated by their colleagues.
Most recently, Nketiah’s goal which was started by Ceballos’ assist in the 85th minute helped Arsenal win over West Ham by a score of 2-1 in the second week of the English Premier League at the Emirates Stadium, Sunday (20/9) WIB.
Nketiah, who came on for Alexandre Lacazette in the 77th minute continued Ceballos’ low cross into the opponent’s already gaping goal.
“I was a little disappointed with his tackle and there was obviously a reaction at that time,” Nketiah told Sky Sports, regarding his friction with Ceballos.
“We made up quickly and he apologized, then went on. That’s what happens in life. I’m glad he was able to help me today, so now it’s all about love. “
“I thought it was a good pass, a good vision from him, and I was just trying to stay on-side and make sure I was behind the ball, so it was a pretty easy finish. It was a great assist from Dani [Ceballos]. “
“That’s all I want to do, to keep trying to help the team and develop as a player. Going in and helping to win is a great feeling. I’m happy the team achieved the three points,” he added.
After the match, Ceballos uploaded his photo with Nketiah on Instagram and made sure there were no problems between them.
As for this result, Arsenal won two consecutive wins in the opening two matches of the 2020/21 EPL season. Now, The Gunners are second in the standings with a collection of six points.
