Ederson Moraes Told He Once Had Been a Goalkeeper

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Ederson Moraes, Manchester City goalkeeper, has a unique story. When he was younger, he turned out to play as a left back. But he asked to become a goalkeeper instead because he was tired of being a defender.

Ederson was bought by Manchester City from Benfica in the 2017/2018 season. The Brazilian goalkeeper has presented two Premier League champions, three Carling Cup champions and one FA Cup for City.

Reported by Four Four Two, the 26 years old goalkeeper told about himself when he was still playing at junior level. Apparently, he used to be a left back!

Being a wing-back, in fact Ederson felt was not easy. Why so?

“Playing as a left wing back is not easy. I don’t like to run fast to go back and forth,” he said.

After that, Ederson talked with the coach. He said he wanted to try the position as a goalkeeper.

“When it was in the training session, being a goalkeeper was like love at first sight,” said Ederson.

At that time Ederson was a teenager. He finally chose the position of goalkeeper for the development of his career. Even now, he is the main goalkeeper for Manchester City.

“Since I first became a goalkeeper, I have continued to learn. Thankfully, I was able to develop in this position,” concluded Ederson.
