Emile Heskey Discusses the Differences between Liverpool and Manchester City

DBasia.news –  The depth of the squad could be the difference between Liverpool and Manchester City in the hunt for the Premier League title. Liverpool legend, Emile Heskey, expressed it.

Man City, the two-time Premier League defending championship title, have squads A and B that are as good as Pep Guardiola is free to rotate his players on a busy schedule. That situation is not owned by Liverpool at this time.

Nevertheless, Liverpool’s prefix in the 2019-20 Premier League is very good. They wiped out the first six matches with a win and collected 18 points, five points adrift of The Citizens in the order of second standing.

But the season is still long. Heskey, a former Liverpool sharp striker in mid-2000-2004, worried there was a situation that made it difficult for Liverpool in terms of depth of the squad if one or even three mainstay trident: Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, or Mohamed Salah missed playing.

“That (winning the Premier League title) is a difficult mission because currently, City has the best squad in terms of team depth. If you take several certain players in City then they always have a successor and do special work, the way the manager wants him to do it,” said Heskey to Omnisport.

“Liverpool, if you take Salah, Mane or Firmino, it will not be the same (his successor), and City have a better depth of the squad,” added the 62 caps and seven goals packer with the England national team.

City even considered Heskey has a line of more productive midfielders than Liverpool. Nevertheless, Heskey hopes that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool consistency will be maintained until the end of the season in the hunt for the last Premier League title won in 1990.

“I think City have a better midfield. But, I’m not saying the Liverpool midfielder is bad, I just say they have better depth and they might give you more goals from midfield,” Heskey added.

“But, if (Liverpool) continue to press as they do now, you never know,” he concluded.
