DBasia.news – The search operation and rescue of the Pier Malibu Airline that Emiliano Sala boarded came to a positive outcome. On Monday (4/2) early dawn WIB, the airline was found in the English Channel.
Conducted by ship wreck experts, David Mearns, the search teams located the wreckage of Pier Malibu boarded by Sala and pilot David Ibbotson in the English channel.
The wreckage will be handed to the head of Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) for further investigations. The families of Sala and Ibbotson has been given the grim news by police officials over the new discoveries.
“The missing plane wreckage boarded by Cardiff City player, Emiliano Sala, and pilot Ibbotson has been found in the English channel, was located this morning by FPV MORVEN,” says Mearns to the BBC.
“The families of Emiliano Sala and David Ibbotson has been informed by police officials. Our deepest condolences for the families and friends of Emiliano and David, “ he adds.
Though yet to be directly confirmed, Sala and Ibbotson were presumed dead due to the accident. As know, Pier Malibu lost contact on last January 22nd while on route from Nantes, France to Cardiff, Wales.
Sala, 28-year old, was just transferred to Cardiff with a hefty pay of 15 million pound – breaking the record of transfer clubs. News on the missing Argentinian shocked and triggered sympathy around the world.
Football figures such as Lionel Messi expresses his condolences to Sala. Meanwhile other football players like N’Golo Kante is giving out donations to keep the search going after being in halt for some time – with a more sophisticated tools.
