DBasia.news – Jean Clair Todibo, Moussa Wague, and Rique Puig, became three players who were given the opportunity to make their debut for Barcelona in La Liga by Ernesto Valverde. All three made their debuts against Huesca in Week 32 of La Liga, Saturday (4/13).
Valverde rotates the Barcelona squad to maintain the fitness of the mainstay players after going against Manchester United in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final, and will return to fight them in the second leg at Camp Nou, Wednesday (17/4) at 02.00 a.m. WIB.
Puiq performed well on his La Liga debut match and received praise from Valverde, although the match ended in a goalless draw at Huesca headquarters.
“That was Todibo’s first match with us, Riqui and Moussa also played their debuts in the league. They will all improve with time. You have to understand the situation around the game,” Valverde said at Sport-English.
“Riqui is a good player when he controls the ball and is always there (to pass), he is not hiding.”
In addition to answering questions about the big rotation of Barca players, Valverde also explained the reason for choosing the ‘weak’ Barca team against Huesca.
“Of course we want to always win, but it is true that there is a situation that is very ‘extraordinary’ for us here,” added Valverde.
“We just had just played on Wednesday (against United) and we will play the second leg on Tuesday. I think it’s time to make a change. So, the match was tested for players and I think they appaeared well,” he concluded.
