DBasia.news – Former Chelsea player, Michael Essien, responded to the rumor about Eden Hazard’s future that will move to Spanish giant, Real Madrid.
Essien assumes Hazard is happy at Stamford Bridge. However, the Ghana player didn’t deny the possibility of Hazard to join Los Blancos.
“There’s always speculation. When you play well, then they start linking you with the big names,” Essien said.
“Eden is happy at Chelsea. And, hopefully, he can stay with us for a long time.”
Essien also gave his comment regarding Hazard’s performance since Maurizio Sarri handled them this season. He thinks Hazard was maximum in applying the attack strategy from the former Napoli coach.
“First of all, it’s good to still have him with us. He’s such a good footballer. He had a fantastic World Cup and he came back and he’s doing very well at the moment,” Essien revealed.
“It’s been good. They have had a very good start. They are playing very good football at the moment, winning games. Fingers crossed that will continue to the end.”
Indeed, Hazard performed impressively this season for scoring 7 goals from 8 Premier League matches. This made the Belgium international player lead the list of Premier League temporary top scorer.
His performance is in line with Chelsea’s achievement. Until the 8th-week of Premier League, Chelsea gathered 20 points and became the runner-up of the temporary standing, with the goal difference to the leader, Manchester City.
