Everton Officially Brings in Abdoulaye Doucoure from Watford

DBasia.news – Everton officially brought in midfielder, Abdoulaye Doucoure from Championship club, Watford. Doucoure was contracted for three seasons, the Premiere League club announced on Wednesday (9/9).

The transfer fee was not disclosed by the club. But British media reported that Everton have paid around 20 million pounds for the 27-year-old, whose contract has three years remaining with Watford. Watford itself was relegated from the Premier League last season.

“I have waited a long time to come here and now it has happened, so I am thrilled,” Doucoure said on the club’s official website.

“Everton has had a great history in English football and it is a great club for me to improve my career.”

Doucoure became the goalscoring midfielder for Watford. He has consistently played in 35 or more league games a season.

The French player is Everton’s third major signing ahead of the start of the season following the arrivals of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid and Allan from Napoli.

The three transfers showed coach Carlo Ancelotti’s desire to strengthen the Merseyside club’s midfield ahead of the new season. Everton finished 12th last season and started the Premiere League season with an away match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday (14/9).
