DBasia.news – Everton stated officially that Duncan Ferguson would remain as team manager, despite rumors that Carlo Ancelotti would come as the new manager. Everton also ensured in the match against Arsenal this weekend there will be no change of manager.
After the match against Leicester City, mid week, Duncan Ferguson claimed he was not entirely sure he would continue to handle Everton in the match against Arsenal. However, now everything is clear. He remains trusted for the fight.
“Duncan Ferguson will remain the interim manager for the Everton Premier League match against Arsenal on Saturday,” the Toffees official stated as quoted from the club’s Twitter account.
In that statement, Ferguson will still be accompanied by three figures who helped him in the last three matches. They are John Ebbrell, Francis Jeffers, and Alan Kelly.
Ferguson became Everton’s caretaker coach after Marco Silva was dismissed on December 5. Together with the Scotsman, the Toffees sensationally won 3-1 over Chelsea who was rising with Frank Lampard.
Next, Big Dunc brought the Toffees one point on the trip to Manchester United. However, he was helpless when his side eliminated Leicester City in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on penalties.
Despite losing,
Everton’s management apparently still believes in Duncan Ferguson. One proof,
they did not rush to complete the process of recruiting Carlo Ancelotti as a
brand-new manager. In fact, according to the circulating news, the agreement is
only waiting for its finalization.
