DBasia.news – Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock is considering taking a break from social media over racism abuse and has called on the platform to do more to combat the problem.
Willock regretted that social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter were less able to filter out racial acts. Even so, he admitted that he would still play on social media to maintain his relationship with fans.
Since joining Newcastle, the England international admits that his life has become harder due to racial attacks on his social media. He said this in an interview with BBC Radio Newcastle.
“Every day I get messages,” Willock was quoted as saying by Goal. “Messages that say about my color or other things are disgusting, really.
“If you go off social media, you lose connection with all the amazing fans who support me every day, want to see my daily life and see what I do and have a connection with me through a platform that they wouldn’t have in life. real.”
