Excited to go back to SSA

DBasia.news – KUALA LUMPUR: The return of Selangor to the Shah Alam Stadium (SSA) after being a ‘homeless’ for one and a half season turned out to be a good news for the Red Giants and supporters.

Coach, Nazliazmi Nasir, admits his excitement after the royal court returns to the official ring as a host venue throughout the Malaysia Cup campaign this season.

“Of course we are excited because we have not played at the stadium as the home side. The Malaysia Cup is indeed a prestigious competition and Selangor has a unique history in the competition.

“However, the stadium factor is not a priority but a player’s character and determination to give the best and a thirst for the win I want from every player,” he said when contacted today.

Meanwhile, Anak Selangor Fan Club (ASFC) president Mohd Faizal Wahid urged the supporters to fill the stadium to prove they were always behind the Red Giants.

“This is a proper decision as the Shah Alam Stadium is strategically and coincides with Selangor’s status as a giant team.

“The Football Association Selangor (FAS) has heard the need for supporters who had previously wanted Selangor to play at the Shah Alam Stadium, so it was the turn of the supporters to respond with the stadium,” he said.

Earlier, Selangor who had to borrow another site, will be back to using the Shah Alam Stadium to face the Malaysia Cup campaign this season.

The development was announced by the Selangor Football Association (FAS) Secretary-General, Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon after receiving a confirmation letter from the Malaysia Football Association (MFL) yesterday.
