Failed to Achieve Maximum Points, Dortmund Draws against Bremen

DBasia.news –  Borussia Dortmund in their first home game of the season were held to a 2-2 draw by Werder Bremen. Dortmund failed to achieve maximum points in the German League match at home at Signal Iduna Park, Sunday (9/29) AM.

Bremen opened first opened the scoring with Milot Rashica (8 ‘), Dortmund then leveled and turned ahead thanks to goals from Mario Gotze (9’) and Marco Reus (41 ‘), but their goal was conceded again by Marco Friedl ( 55 ‘), as reported by the official page of the German League.

These results have scattered Dortmund in seventh place standings with 11 points, while Bremen is still ranked tenth with seven points.

Rashica surprised the host’s public when he successfully used Davy Klaassen’s assist to score at the start of the match. However, the advantage lasted only two minutes, as Goetze was able to head the ball past Lukasz Piszczek to score an equalizer.

The Yellow-Black Team still had several opportunities through Jadon Sancho and Thorgan Hazard. However, Reus were able to break down Bremen’s goal to bring Dortmund to close the first round with a one goal advantage.

Dortmund performed better at the start of the second half, but Bremen were lucky as goalkeeper, Jiri Pavlenka, performed well and was able to thwart five opportunities that threatened his goal.

Dortmund goalkeeper, Roman Burki, was forced to work hard to withstand the efforts of Josh Sargent after halftime, but he was helpless to foil Marco Friedl moments later.

Dortmund were eager to pursue victory over all efforts. Achraf Hakimi had time to test goalkeeper, Pavlenka, and Hazard released a kick that was still blocked by Bremen players. They had the last chance from substitute, Paco Alcacer, but he was unable to maximize the good passes from Sancho and Julian Brandt.
