DBasia.news – Extending the contract of the mainstay players seems to be a priority for AS Roma this summer. Latest, Federico Fazio signed a new contract.
Fazio, now 32, has agreed to a new two-year contract with the Giallorossi that is valid until June 30, 2021.
“This is the renewal of my second contract with the club and I am very happy,” Fazio said.
“From the first day here I felt that the club had confidence in me, something that is important for every player.”
“I feel that trust from everyone who works in Trigoria – a place where I want to stay for a long time.”
The Argentine national team player joined Roma in the summer of 2016.
In the three seasons since joining, Il Comandante (The Pilot) has made 135 appearances for the club and scored 11 goals.
“Federico is a key player in the squad and therefore we are happy to be able to extend his contract,” said the club sporting director Gianluca Petrachi.
“We will rely on his abilities and experience, qualities which will also be very important in the growth and development of our young players. Federico will be a mentor for our defense and our players.”
