Fiorentina is Confident in Recruiting Lucas Torreira
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Fiorentina remains confident despite competing with AS Roma to recruit Arsenal midfielder, Lucas Torreira.
Having big ambitions to continue to improve their squad, Fiorentina appeared to be serious in the transfer market this summer. The team based at the Artemio Franchi are targeting several well-known players, one of which is Arsenal midfielder from Uruguay, Lucas Torreira.
Even though he had become the mainstay of the Gunners during Unai Emery’s era, slowly the position of Torreira in the team that is now being handled by Mikel Arteta has indeed begun to be eliminated.
The 24-year-old midfielder was not even included in the Community Shield match from Arsenal when they defeated Liverpool on Saturday (29/08).
The situation certainly created speculation regarding the future of the former Sampdoria player.
News from La Nazionale now states that Fiorentina is the front-runner to obtain Torreira, even though they still have rivals from another Serie A team, AS Roma.
Roma have already expressed their interest in signing the 24-year-old player, but have yet to reach an agreement with Arsenal.
Currently, Fiorentina seems to have the upper hand with the news that they have made an offer with a paid loan method of Rp. 138 billion and a purchase option of Rp. 311 billion.
This amount is reportedly still higher than what the Roman camp has offered to date. For this reason, Fiorentina are optimistic that they will be able to bring Torreira back to compete in Serie A next season.
The player himself has several times expressed his desire to return to play in Italy, as he has been less suited for several things in England.
Arsenal’s achievements, which have been poor in the last two seasons, seem to increase Torreira’s desire to play in a place that makes him feel more comfortable.
At the moment, it looks like Fiorentina will be the next port of the Uruguay national team midfielder. However, if Roma are able to increase their offer, the competition could become increasingly fierce.
