DBasia.news – Five Serie A clubs are threatened with sanctions from the Italian League organizing authority, Lega Serie A. The sanction is in response to the late payment of salaries.
The five clubs are Napoli, Genoa, Sampdoria, Lazio and Benevento. The five clubs have not completed payment of the players’ salaries, starting from September 2020.
“The five clubs have until December 1 to be able to pay the remaining salaries of the players, at least until October 2020,” wrote a report by Gazzetta dello Sports.
Serie A clubs has actually had time to get a remission in terms of paying the player’s salaries. These clubs can postpone salary payments, until December 1 at the latest.
This remission is a form of support for clubs to be able to withstand the intense pressure on club finances due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Until now, of the 20 Serie A contestants, only five of these clubs are known to have not paid player salaries.
Bologna, Crotone, Inter Milan, Parma and AS Roma have paid players ‘salaries for September 2020. Atalanta, Cagliari, Fiorentina, Juventus, Milan, Sassuolo, Spezia, Torino, Udinese, and Verona have already paid their players’ wages for October 2020.
