DBasia.news – Former Barcelona player, Junior Firpo, has opened up regarding Ronald Koeman’s coaching period at Camp Nou. Firpo revealed a number of mistakes made by Koeman.
Junior Firpo is one of the Barcelona players who did not develop his career under Koeman. The Dutch coach rarely gave Firpo a chance to show off.
As a result, Firpo was eliminated from the Barcelona squad. Currently, he is defending the English club, Leeds United.
Until now, Junior Firpo is still disappointed with Ronald Koeman. He felt the coach made a number of lies.
“There are a number of things with Koeman that I can’t understand. In addition, on several occasions, Koeman has shown disrespect for me and other players,” Firpo said as reported by Marca.
“I don’t understand. One day before the game, when the coaters were training, he was in his room.”
“In fact, if you become a backup player, you need to prove yourself to the coach,” stated the player.
Firpo also feels Koeman made a judgment that does not match the facts. In essence, Firpo was disappointed because he was accused of being the culprit of Barcelona’s problems.
“I asked about my situation and he lied. If that’s the case, why do I keep asking?”
“Koeman said things that made no sense by saying I trained badly. He also thought I was ruining the team,” continued Firpo.
“Try asking the other players if they say the same about me.”
As the results continued to decline, Barcelona also fired Ronald Koeman. Then, Barca appointed Xavi Hernandez to be a replacement.
