Former Lazio Player As Argentina National Team Temporary Coach

DBasia.news – Argentine Football Association (AFA) appointed the temporary coach for Argentina national team. He is the former Lazio player, Lionel Scalone as the temporary coach of La Albiceleste.

Argentina national team have no coach since the end of 2018 World Cup. At that time, AFA fired Jorge Sampaoli who failed to fulfill the target with Argentina national team.

The situation made AFA looked for a new coach to replace Sampaoli’s position. However, they haven’t found the right one to handle the Argentina national team.

As a result, AFA promoted Scaloni who handled the U-20 Argentina national team. The former Lazio player will handle Lionel Messi and friends at least until September.

By any chance, during September the Argentina national team will have two friendly matches. Two times world champion will play against Guatemala and Colombia.

Besides Scaloni, his assistant Pablo Aimar will also be temporarily promoted. They will work meanwhile AFA is looking for the other candidate.

“The AFA informs that, after the meeting of the executive committee, Lionel Scaloni will direct the next friendlies of the Argentine national team, along with his assistants Pablo Aimar and Martín Tocalli,” wrote the AFA official release.

AFA president Claudio Tapia confirmed that Argentina national team will be under Lionel Scaloni until the end of 2018. Apparently, there are only 3 more friendly matches for the rest of the year.

“The three international matches we are going to play between now and the end of the year will be led by Scaloni and Aimar,” Tapia told Ole.
