DBasia.news – The French national team was only able to draw against Austria in the third match of Group A1 of the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League at the Ernst Happel Stadium, Vienna, Saturday (11/6) early morning WIB, the 2018 world champion ended the match with a score of 1-1 .

The hosts took the lead from the first half through Andreas Weimann’s 37th minute goal by converting Konrad Laimer’s low cross.

Kylian Mbappe, who only came on in the 63rd minute to replace Antoine Griezmann, forced a late draw, 83rd minute, with a brilliant finish after capitalizing on a through ball from substitute Christopher Nkunku.

Mbappe admits his team did not get the results they hoped for and he hopes Les Bleus can come out stronger against Croatia.

“We didn’t win, we didn’t get what we wanted before the game,” Mbappe told TF1.

“We will work to try to win on Monday [against Croatia].”

Meanwhile, Deschamps isn’t worried about how his side’s performances were deteriorating before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

“From what we can do, I’m satisfied,” Deschamps told reporters.

“The players should be rewarded with the result. In the game, we have done very good things.”

“Austria gave a lot of commitment, intensity. We had total control in the second half. We were clearly less efficient, unfortunately compared to what we did in the second half.”
