DBasia.news – Two past seasons, there was an impression that Francesco Totti was forced to retire by AS Roma coach at that time, Luciano Spalletti. Considering that issue, some MLS’ teams approached him. But Ilary Blasi’s husband insisted his faithfulness to Roma and chose to retire from football for real.

This time, Totti raised his comment about his poor relationship with Spalletti. Both never met each other since the end of 2016/2017 season. “He’s the one who pushed the most,” he explained.

Totti is known as a loyal player to one club. No wonder, born in Roma, just supporting AS Roma throughout his career. In fact, some Europe top teams like Real Madrid were interested in him.

But his loyalty to his hometown team defeated the desire to reach many titles and higher salary from another team. However, there were moments Totti almost moved to the US competition, MLS.

Now, he is one of the team’s directors. Regarding his refusal to MLS, Totti told the story to Italian media, La Repubblica.

“I would have ruined a 25-year career. I always said I would only wear one shirt and I’m a man of my word,” Totti said.

Regarding his decision to only support Roma the whole career, Totti didn’t get many champion titles. But he achieved the prestigious titles couple times like Scudetto on 2000-2001 and contributed in Italia’s winning in 2006 World Cup.

Then what was his worst moment? “When Roma got last-minute conceded against Slavia Prague and we failed to qualify the UEFA semifinal. Also some derby and Italia’s failure in 2000 Europe Cup against France,” he told.
