DBasia.news – After leaving Fiorentina at the end of the season Franck Ribery has the potential to continue his career in Serie A with a promoted team, Salernitana.
Reported by Goal Global, former Bayern Munich and Fiorentina star Franck Ribery will soon sign a contract as a new player from Serie A team, Salernitana. This is Ribery’s second time undergoing Serie A after being with La Viola in mid 2019-2021.
Ribery himself has not joined any team after his contract at Fiorentina expired at the end of last season. He decided to leave and did not extend his stay at the Artemio Franchi.
Ribery’s name was actually associated with his return to Germany with Die Roten. But he will now stay longer in Italy with Salernitana, who reportedly gave him a one-year contract.
The Campania-based team is also said to have given Ribery an option for an additional year of contract, if he can save the team from relegation this season. According to a Goal report, Ribery will soon undergo a medical test at the Salernitana training ground, Monday local time.
Previously, Ribery was greeted by the Director of Sport, Angelo Fabiani and the team manager, Salvatore Avallone when he arrived at Napoli’s Capodichino Airport. He seemed eager to start a new stage in his two-decade career.
Around 13,000 I Granata supporters are expected to welcome the 38-year-old player when he arrives at the Stadio Arechi. Ribery is certainly highly anticipated by the Salernitana public as he will become a famous player in the club’s 102 history.
After successfully winning many prestigious titles with Bayern Munich, Ribery joined Fiorentina for free in the summer of 2019. Over the years Ribery has been recognized as one of the top wingers in European football.
Unfortunately, Ribery’s brilliance did not appear when he was with La Viola. Ribery recorded five goals and 10 assists from 51 matches for Fiorentina in all competitions.
If all goes well, he will join his new team-mates this weekend to start full training. Salernitana itself has not been able to reap a single point until the second week of the Italian League this season. Ribery could be playing his debut match against Torino on Sunday (12/9).
