DBasia.news – Through the club’s official website, Chelsea have officially appointed their legend, Frank Lampard, as a new manager.
Frank Lampard has history with Chelsea while still playing. Lampard defended the London club from 2001 to 2014.
Chelsea brought Frank Lampard in from West Ham in 2001. After that, Harry Redknapp’s nephew left for Manchester City before ending his career with New York City.
After retiring, Frank Lampard has handled Derby County. Only one season with The Rams, Lampard was immediately appointed as Chelsea manager.
In his appointment, Frank Lampard said he was proud to be able to return to Chelsea. The 41-year-old man hopes to provide the best for the Blues.
“I feel proud to be returning to Chelsea as a manager. Everyone knows how much I love this club, and the history we have made together,” Frank Lampard said.
“Even so, I will focus on my work and prepare the team for the 2019-2020 season. I decided to return to Chelsea and be ready to work hard.”
“I have the ambition to bring glory to Chelsea in the future. I also can’t wait to start the season dealing with this club,” Frank Lampard continued.
Chelsea has tied Frank Lampard with a three-season contract. Lampard replaced the position of Maurizio Sarri who decided to handle Juventus.
