DBasia.news – Chelsea manager Frank Lampard praised Tottenham Hotspur’s new coach, Jose Mourinho.
Lampard played under Mourinho’s direction in two different periods of the coach at Chelsea. Both successfully led the Blues to win the English Premier League title twice in a row, namely in 2004-2006.
“What Jose Mourinho did when he came to the club was to give me real confidence,” Lampard said.
“He also has a lot of that, we all see that. But he has a very good way to convey it to the players.”
“At the beginning of his arrival at Chelsea, I was a little involved in his project, and he gave me an injection of motivation and really encouraged the team’s spirit at the club when we hadn’t won everything. He wanted to make us winners and we really got it.”
“I believe this is a different situation now but it is my experience. He will look to inspire the players who work with him now as we feel. That is part of his job, off the field and how to approach individuals,” he added.
