Frankfurt supporters successfully invaded Camp Nou

DBasia.news – Eintracht Frankfurt was not only able to beat Barcelona in the second leg of the 2021-2022 Europa League quarter-finals. Die Adler supporters also successfully invaded the Camp Nou.

In the match which took place on Friday (15/4), Barcelona lost by a score of 2-3. This result made the Blaugrana fail to advance to the semifinals as they lost 3-4 on aggregate.

Frankfurt was able to lead by three goals when the game was 67 minutes in. Filip Kostic (two goals) and Rafael Santos Borre Maury listed his names on the scoreboard.

Barcelona could only reply in injury time through Sergio Busquets kick and Memphis Depay penalty. But these efforts were not enough to take El Barca to the semifinals.

Interestingly, Frankfurt seems to be celebrating this success at home. The color white did dominate the Camp Nou stands.

This was of course surprising. Barcelona players couldn’t even believe what they saw.

“I’m surprised that there were so many Frankfurt fans here in our stadium. The club will have to see how it goes,” said Barcelona defender, Ronald Araujo after the match.

The dominance of Frankfurt fans is indeed an irony in itself. This also affects the outcome of the match.

Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez is another figure who is disappointed. He felt that his team did not get enough support to win.

“The atmosphere at Camp Nou didn’t help us. It looked like a final with the fans divided in two,” said Xavi.

“I was expecting Camp Nou with 70,000 Barca fans, but it didn’t materialize. The club is looking into what happened.”

Frankfurt supporters actually only got 5,000 tickets for this match. But the amount in the stands reached 30 thousand.

According to Marca’s report, many Barcelona canal ticket owners have sold tickets for this match to Frankfurt fans. Many of them were absent to provide support because it coincided with the Easter celebrations.
