Fred Is Not Feasible to £50M Transfer Fee

DBasia.news – Manchester United’s move in the summer transfer market was quick, but there weren’t many players recruited. The three players are Lee Grant, Diogo Dalot, and Fred.

The latter was recruited with a high transfer fee, United must pay £50M to Shakhtar Donetsk. The expectation was high to the Brasilian player.

Unfortunately, until the 12th-week of Premier League, Fred hasn’t showed his best performance yet. He just played full time in three matches. Recently, when Paul Pogba injured and absent in the match against Manchester City, Fred was also benched.

Responding to Fred’s average performance, one of the club’s legends, Gary Neville, raised his comment and revealed that he doesn’t deserve the £50M transfer fee.

“Fred at £50m, he started the first game of the season and he looked bright, he looked tidy – but does he look like what you would expect for £50m?” Neville said reported by Manchester Evening News.

““Does he change a game? Does it look like he’s going to defend your goal? Does it look like he’s going to connect back-to-front? At this moment in time, no,” he added.

Despite the disappointment with Fred’s performance, Neville believes he has the talent to be an important player in the squad.

“He’s still getting used to Manchester United and he’s coming into a very difficult position in the sense that the club aren’t the most stable at this moment,” he concluded.
