Gabigol Shows Sharpness in Scoring, Flamengo Wants a Permanent Contract
By db-admin
DBasia.news – The brilliant performance of Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa in the Flamengo vs Rivel Plate match led Flamengo president Rodolfo Landim to negotiate Gabriel Barbosa’s transfer from Inter Milan to become the club’s permanent player.
Barbosa, or commonly called Gabigol, scored two goals that led Flamengo to win 2-1 over River Plate in the Copa Libertadores final. The 23-year-old’s performance has improved since being loaned to Flamengo from Inter in 2019.
Gabigol has scored 31 goals and provided 10 assists in a total of 38 matches in all competitions. Given that great performance, there is a chance Gabigol returned to Inter and try his luck in the era of Antonio Conte, or stay at Flamengo on permanent status.
Landim wants Gabigol to sign a new contract with a permanent purchase status from Inter. But, it has not been negotiated at this time because it awaits the Inter-Club World Cup.
“We have not made contact with Inter. We have not reached an agreement with anything, but the negotiations went well,” said Rodolfo Landim, as reported by Football-Italy.
The final decision is in the hands of Gabigol who has also been loaned to Benfica and Santos because if they return to Inter, the team already has Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku as two mainstay spearheads on the front lines.
“Everything will depend on what the player wants to do and, afterward, we will discuss the salary issue,” Landim added.
“A lot of talks are scheduled for the end of the year and Gabigol has been told he wants to discuss his future at the end of the season, which has been extended to after the Club World Cup,” he explained.
