DBasia.news – Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane, stated his reason for not including Gareth Bale in the squad to play in the Audi Cup. According to him, Bale’s physical condition was not in good shape.
Gareth Bale failed to leave Jiangsu Suning after Real Madrid blocked the transfer in the final seconds. In fact, Bale has agreed to receive a salary of 17 million euros per season.
Reportedly, the cancellation came directly from the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez. The president reportedly did not want to lose because of releasing Bale far below the price when purchased from Tottenham Hotspur.
In addition, Florentino Perez believes Bale is still needed by Real Madrid after recovering from a long injury. Moreover, Madrid also lost Marco Asensio for a while due to injury problems.
However, Zinedine Zidane is reportedly unhappy with the steps taken by Perez. Zidane remains firm that Bale would leave Santiago Bernabeu.
Gareth Bale was not taken on the Real Madrid trip at the Audi Cup in Germany. Zidane argued, Bale was not fit.
“Bale did not come with us because he was not in good condition. The doctors said he was not in good health and the best for him was to stay in Madrid. He trained individually in Madrid,” Zidane said as reported by Mirror.
“It was a decision that we made together. The club, doctors, Bale, and I made a joint decision,” he continued.
Previously, Gareth Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, denied that Bale’s situation in Madrid had changed. Even though Los Blancos canceled the transfer to Suning, Bale still did not enter Zidane’s plan.
“It’s simple, Zinedine Zidane doesn’t like Gareth Bale. There is no connection between them. There never was,” Barnett explained.
