DBasia.news –  Real Madrid showed their power while playing the Madrid Derby against Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metrpolitano, Saturday (9/2) evening. In the match, Madrid won with a score of 3-1.

Los Blancos’ three goals was scored by Casemiro on 16th minutes,  Sergio Ramos (42), and Gareth Bale’s (74) penalty kick. Whereas host’s only goal was contributed by Antoine Criezmann (25).

Atletico took the initiative to attack first. Even in the second minute Antoine Griezmann got a chance. However, the French striker is still far from the opponent’s goal.

Moments later, Madrid had a chance, but midfielder Luka Modric’s header from the right side was wide.

Los Blancos’ effort to excel yielded results when Casemiro broke into the goal of Jan Oblak through a spectacular action in the 16th minute.

Nine minutes gone by, Atletico equalized their position through Griezmann, using Angel Correa’s neat pass.  Referee, Xavier Estrada Fernandez had delayed to ensure Griezmann’s goal. After being assisted by VAR, Estrada considered Griezmann’s goal legitimate.

However, the Atletico goalkeeper collapsed again in the 42nd minute. Sergio Ramos broke into Atletico’s goal through the penalty spot. The referee gave El Real a penalty after Vinicus Junior was violated by Jose Gimenez in the penalty box. The 1-2 score lasted until the break.

In the first half Madrid was able to control the ball up to 60 percent and released six shots, three on target. While Atletico fired five shots, only one on target.

While the second half was only running for two minutes, Alvaro Morata released a kick that still deviated from the target.

In the 53rd minute, Atletico continued to get another chance. But Morata’s collaboration with Griezmann failed to produce a goal. Griezmann’s kick shot thinly slipped from the Madrid’s goal.

Atletico finally managed to penetrate Madrid’s goal in the 55th minute. However, after using VAR, the referee did not ratify Morata’s goal. The Chelsea loanee was caught in an offside position.

Through half an hour of play, Atletico continued to hunt for equalizing goals. But in the middle of the hunt, the host’s goal actually returned to collapse in the 75th minute. Luka Modric’s accurate bait was able to be converted into a goal by Gareth Bale. This is Bale’s 100th goal with Real Madrid.

Atletico got worse after having to play with ten players in the 80th minute. The referee issued a second yellow card to Thomas Partey following his hard tackle to Toni Kroos.

Thanks to this victory, Real Madrid rose to second place in the LaLiga standings, overtaking Atletico who had to settle down to third place.
