DBasia.news – Gonzalo Higuain never asked to leave from AC Milan. Milan’s coach, Gennaro Gattuso also admits he won’t be disappointed if Higuain really leaves.
AC Milan signed Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus. Rossoneri spent 18 million euro to lend the Argentinian player for one season.
But, so far, Higuain couldn’t show his best performance. The former Real Madrid player just scored 6 goals of 15 caps in the Serie a.
A few days ago, Gattuso insisted Higuain asked to leave. But, he is correcting his statement.
“I base my decisions on how players train during the week and how they work with the staff and their team-mates,” Gattuso said cited by FourFourTwo.
“At this moment, I have to repeat the same words: there are many rumors, but Higuain is training well, working with everyone just fine and is at our disposal,” the Italian coach insisted.
Gonzalo Higuain wants to reunite with his former coach, Maurizio Sarri, in Chelsea. Sarri thinks Higuain is the answer to The Blues front line. Apparently, the negotiation is entering the serious phase. Moreover, Higuain would leave after the match against Juventus, Wednesday (16/1).
“We’ll see tomorrow whether he plays or not. He has to decide what to do, how to resolve this issue, but right now he is training with great professionalism. We’ll see.”
Gattuso tried to be fair. He won’t put Higuain on the bench if he plays well during the training. But, Gattuso doesn’t deny that there’s something happens after the red card and failed penalty in the match against Juventus.
“I want to reiterate that Higuain has never told me he wants to leave. I am waiting for that. I want to be honest, I didn’t even want to talk about Higuain, as we’re here for the Supercoppa. That seemed the fair thing to do for a team,” the coach confessed.
“I hope it is a great game for us, but I won’t be upset or let down if he goes,” Gattuso said.
