DBasia.news –  Villarreal’s frontline duo, Gerard Moreno and Karl Toko Ekambi, have been one of the keys to the success of The Yellow Submarines so far competing in the top 10 of LaLiga.

Javier Calleja’s team, although only 1-2 defeat of Eibar in Week 11 LaLiga, Friday (01/11) early morning Western Indonesian Time, was in the order of seven standings with 17 points – two points adrift of Real Sociedad in the League zone Europa and three points from Atletico Madrid in the Champions League zone.

In that match, Moreno scored and scored his eighth goal in LaLiga20-20-20. The 27-year-old striker tops Pichichi (LaLiga’s top score) with a record of eight goals, ahead of Karim Benzema (seven goals), Loren Moron (seven goals), and Luis Suarez (six goals).

If it could maintain consistency and sharpness, it is not impossible that the Catalunya striker won the Pichichi award this season and ended the dominance of Lionel Messi, who has won it in the last three seasons.

With the certainty of Moreno sitting at the top of Pichichi at this time, his duet with Ekambi Shop has produced 13 goals in LaLiga from 11 matches that have taken place. The Ekambi Shop has scored five goals. Both have contributed to the 25 goals that have been scored by Villarreal – the second best scorer of attacks after Barcelona (28 goals).

According to records from the official Villarreal website, only duo Giuseppe Rossi and Nilmar, who performed better than both when they scored 13 goals (combination) in the 2010-11 season in a period of 10 matches – Rossi seven goals and Nilmar six goals.

One other factor behind the key to Villarreal’s great performance came from the 34-year-old midfielder, Santi Cazorla. His performance was excellent this season and he has recorded four assists – the equivalent of Dani Carvajal and Messi.

Cazorla has scored four goals. If counted since the first period defending Villarreal (2003-2006), then from 2018 to the present, Cazorla has scored 46 goals and surpasses the former Villarreal attacker, Juan Riquelme, as the most productive midfielder.
