DBasia.news – Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique, commented on the future of Lionel Messi at Camp Nou which has not come to a result. Pique hopes Messi will come back.
Barcelona continues to try to sign Lionel Messi who is now unemployed. Los Cules reportedly offered a salary 50% lower than what Messi last received.
Until now, Messi has not signed a contract. Reportedly, Barca needs to reduce the salary burden first to bring home Lionel Messi.
This condition has made Pique worried. The former Spain national team player hopes that Messi will stay at Barcelona.
“We are waiting for him to extend his contract and that it would bring him together again. I hope he believes it,” explained Pique as reported by Marca.
Gerard Pique also confirmed his ambition to restore Barcelona’s glory in LaLiga. Pique hopes Barca can immediately soar through from the start of the competition.
“I entered this season with the same enthusiasm as the first time,” said Pique.
“We have to try to start well. Usually, when we win titles, it’s because of a good rhythm from the start or we build an advantage and keep it.”
“We try to do the same and hope Real Madrid plus Atletico Madrid don’t do what they did last year,” Pique added.
