Gian Piero Gasperini Prefer Achieving with Atalanta

Gian Piero Gasperini is not a new name for Inter Milan. He never coached the Nerazzurri in the 2011-2012 season. Unfortunately, Gasperini’s story with Inter only lasted for five matches. Inter fired the coach after a series of minor results.

After that, the 61-year coach’s career began racing. The climax, he took Atalanta to qualify for the 2019-2020 Champions League.

That note is arguably a huge success for Gasperini. Because it was the first time Atalanta competed in the Champions League. Not surprisingly, some media said Gasperini had entered Inter Milan’s target.

“It is undeniable if qualifying for the Champions League with a club like Atalanta is satisfying. We get one point more than Milan and match the acquisition of Inter Milan,” Gasperini explained as reported by Corriere della Sera.

“We may not be the strongest team, but we are the best players. We finished the competition only behind Juventus and Napoli. In addition, we also stepped into the final of the Coppa Italia,” he continued.

Furthermore, Gian Piero Gasperini said he was focused on preparing Atalanta to compete in the Champions League. According to him, Papu Gomez and his friends still had no experience competing in European competition. 

“I want to defuse some of the euphorias around. Because winning true football is 11 players against 11 players. Economic power cannot move to the field, but we still need to get everything out there. Our rivals have played in the Champions League for many years.”

Atalanta is in Group C of the Champions League 2019-2020. The Bergamo-based club has a group with Dinamo Zagreb, Manchester City, and Shakhtar Donetsk.
