Gianluigi Donnarumma Agrees to Extend his Contract with AC Milan

DBasia.news – Gianluigi Donnarumma is reportedly close to extending the duration of his contract with AC Milan. In contrast, the Rossoneri’s negotiations with Hakan Calhanoglu were complicated as the Turkish international player was wanted by Manchester United and Juventus.

The two players’ contracts expire in June 2021 but the goalkeeper is on the verge of extending his stay at the club more than his team-mate. The club has offered 6.5 million euros per year while Donnarumma requests 7.5 million euros.

Quoted from Football Italia, Thursday (12/11), the agreement of the two parties is getting closer to Donnarumma’s brother, Antonio will also sign a new contract with Milan.

The only doubt surrounding Donnarumma’s extension concerns the release clause that his agent Mino Raiola wants to include in his contract. Raiola wants the release clause to be activated if Milan fails to qualify for the Champions League. Meanwhile Milan does not want to include any release clauses in the player’s contract.

As for Calhanoglu, the conversations are much more complicated. Milan have reportedly offered 3 million euros, but the player’s agent, Gordon Stipic has requested a new contract worth 6 million euros per year.

The two sides have met only once over the past few months and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are not looking to increase their offer.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in the Turkish international player who also has several requests from Serie A. According to Sky Sport, Juventus are trying to sign the player as a free agent at the end of this season.
