DBasia.news – The captain of Serie A team who often modifies the captain armband had a clash with the competition operator, Lega Serie A. Recently, the Lega Serie A announced that they will ban the player who doesn’t wear the captain armband according to the standard.
In his official statement, Lega Serie A mentioned the captain armband must be in white with no other design. Plus, it has to embody the Serie A logo and “captain” written on it.
“The Lega Serie A recently mandated that all captains must wear the same armband for matches,” said the statement.
This season, the captain armbands of Daniele De Rossi (AS Roma), Alejandro Gomez (Atalanta), and German Pezella (Fiorentina) became the highlight.
Especially for Pezella, he designed the armband with the initial ‘DA13’, the abbreviation for Davide Astori and 13 is the jersey number of the player who passed away during a rest in the team hotel. Pezella used the captain armband as the respect for Davide Astori.
Juventus FC captain Giorgio Chiellini regrets the controversy. But the Italy national team captain believes the problem will find its solution if there is a proper communication with the Lega Serie A.
“This needless controversy erupted because there was an unnecessary lack of communication. None of us would have a problem wearing an armband that was uniform. We’ll find a solution with the Lega Serie A.”
“Because it’s only right that Davide be remembered forever. With a bit of common sense, everything will be resolved,” Chiellini revealed.
