DBasia.news – Chelsea striker, Oliver Giroud, admitted that it was difficult to get rid of Tammy Abraham from the first team.
Abraham has defended Chelsea in ten matches this season. He also contributed eight goals and one assist.
Finally, he contributed one goal in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over hosts Lille on Champions League Group H matchday 2 at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
“I’m fine, even though I’m having a hard time. Now this is not an ideal situation. At this time, Tammy was like walking on water. it’s hard to get rid of other strikers when he succeeds. I am patient. I work in training. You must guard your mind well. We have a lot of games to play,” Giroud said.
“Last week, I missed three matches because of a dirty virus that bound me to bed. Now I feel much better. The coach prefers to start Tammy against Lille and this is good for the team. It makes us want to continue to work and shake the competition.”
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard had previously insisted that his team needed Giroud. Because, the Blues schedule is very solid.
“I need all the options for this season and Giorud is a fantastic professional and I think he understands. Everybody wants to play, I like that, that’s how it should be,” Lampard said.
