DBasia.news – Last season, AC Milan have the strikers like Nikola Kalinic and Andre Silva. Surprisingly, their academy player Patrick Cutrone showed his bright performance. Silva who came to Milan from Porto with 38 million euro price tag on June 12, 2017, just scored two goals in Serie A.
Ahead of the 2018-2019 competition, Milan’s management and the coach Gennaro Gattuso agreed to loan Silva to the Spanish LaLiga team, Seville. This team have the option to permanent the status of the 22-year-old striker next season.
But out of expectation, Silva performed excellently with Sevilla. In his debut with the team, he scored a hat-trick. It was ironic considering last season, he just scored two goals in Milan.
Portugal’s legendary striker who played with Serie A with ACF Fiorentina, Nuno Gomes, explained the reason behind Silva’s dimming performance in Milan. He assumed I Rossoneri didn’t give any chance to the bomber of Portugal national team.
“He arrived in a difficult period for the club. When a young lad, who still do not know a lot, is seen as the savior of the team, things do not usually work,” Nuno Gomes told Tuttosport.
Furthermore, the man who scored 29 goals from 79 matches with Portugal national team believed Gattuso was wrong in placing Silva. Nuno Gomes believed Silva isn’t the typical striker who will wait in the penalty box to score the goal just like Milan’s legendary striker, Pippo Inzaghi.
“He is not a typical 9 like Pipo Inzaghi, but he is a striker who moves a lot and knows how to handle the ball, often he assists his teammates. He’s not the one that just scores,” Nuno Gomes uttered.
