DBasia.news – Persib Bandung coach Mario Gomez said Persib Bandung squad is on fire after defeating Macan Kemayoran in the 23rd-week match of Liga 1 with a 3-2 score.
Hence, he regrets PSSI decision to terminate the 2018 Liga 1 after the death of a Persija Jakarta supporter, Haringga Sirla due to the attacks from Bobotoh, Sunday (23/9).
“The delay won’t be good for the team, because we are on the right track after the previous winning against Persija in El Clasico,” Mario Gomez said after leading the training session at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Bandung, Wednesday (26/9).
Actually, Mario continued, the case shouldn’t give any impact to the Liga. They should let the police manage it because the incident happened outside the stadium.
“Just like in Argentina, if the case is outside the stadium, it belongs to the police. In contrary, if inside the stadium, that’s the club problem.”
“It’s also applied in other countries including Europe. Certainly, this is a bad situation because killing someone based on my performance, is different inside and outside the stadium,” he said.
However, the 61-year-old coach should accept with a big heart. However, the decision was taken by PSSI.
“And perhaps we will have more time for training and recovery for the injured players,” he said.
Mario Gomez ensured that he will conduct the training as scheduled. Moreover, the Liga 1 delay from PSSI didn’t mention the time limit.
“All we can do is training. We want the certainty when will the Liga continues because this is just a temporary delay. It’s not our decision. Our decision is to keep on training and preparing against Madura United, that’s it,” he insisted.
