Had Failed to Win, Jurgen Klopp Admits Not Pressured Bringing Liverpool to become the Club World Cup Champion

DBasia.news –  To get Liverpool to win the first title at the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup, the team manager, Jurgen Klopp claimed not to feel pressured. Despite failing at the same tournament in 2005, Klopp claimed to see this match as an absolute opportunity.

As Champions League champions last season, Liverpool has the right to represent Europe in the tournament which will be held in Doha, Qatar, on December 11-21.

Liverpool’s superior status can certainly be a burden. Moreover, the Reds had lost to Sao Paulo in the final round in the 2005 edition.

“So far, I have not felt the pressure. I see it as an absolute opportunity,” Klopp said as quoted by the official FIFA website on Monday (11/11).

“The interesting and difficult part is that we will play against teams from other continents, which doesn’t happen often. That will definitely be difficult,” said the coach who is identical to the hat.

As a European champion, Liverpool will immediately appear in the semifinals on December 18 local time with potential opponents Al Sadd (Qatar), Hienghene Sport (New Caledonia), or Monterrey (Mexico).

Even so, the League Cup quarter-final schedule against Aston Villa two days before, made Klopp have to divide the two teams separately.

Liverpool will play a total of 12 matches in four competitions from November 23, 2019-January 2, 2020.
