Having a brilliant debut at Inter Milan, Hakan Calhanoglu praised his teammates

DBasia.news – Inter Milan’s new signing, Hakan Calhanoglu, opened up after an impressive debut. The midfielder performed well when Inter beat Genoa 4-0 in the first week of Serie A 2021-2022, at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Saturday (21/8).

The four goals were created by Milan Skriniar (6′), Hakan Calhanoglu (14′), Arturo Vidal (74′) and Edin Dzeko (87′). Meanwhile, Genoa only got four chances on target without one being a goal.

After the match, Calhanoglu thanked him for the welcome he received. The player who came from AC Milan on a free transfer felt that what was displayed could not be separated from the quality of the Nerazzurri players.

“I know the Inter fans have high expectations. I want to thank them for their support,” Calhanoglu told DAZN.

“I want to give my best for Inter. I also want to thank Piero Ausilio and Simone Inzaghi for bringing me here.”

“It is very easy to play with team-mates who have quality. We are thrilled,” added the Turkish player.

The big win also made Inzaghi happy. The former Lazio tactician is aware that this is a good start for the defending champions.

“I’m pretty sure the team will do well. Because I’ve seen them train enthusiastically and hungry since July 8. They are eager to learn new concepts,” said Inzaghi.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better start, especially for the fans who were in the stadium,” added Inzaghi.

Inzaghi also praised Calhanoglu. According to him, Calhanoglu has more opportunities to develop in the future.

“Calhanoglu is a great player. He is able to unite quality and quantity. He also runs very hard for the team,” explained Inzaghi.

“Every time against him he gets me in trouble. We were lucky enough to get him and I think he will be even stronger not realizing how good he is.”

Now, ahead of the close of the transfer market, Inter Milan’s focus is to bring in one more striker. From the names circulating, the Nerazzurri are rumored to be bringing either Joaquin Correa or Marcus Thuram.

“Of course we have to complete the squad because the departure of Romelu Lukaku was unexpected. Dzeko showed his quality. Hopefully we can bring in other players who gain a lot of goals,” said Inzaghi.
