DBasia.news – For the first time after being under Arsene Wenger for 22 years, Arsenal started the new era under Unai Emery leadership. The Gunners have started the adaptation process with him during the training session and pre-season tour in Singapore.
Emery gave a new refreshment in the terms of coaching method and also, different football philosophy compared to Wenger. His seriousness to bring back Arsenal from the sixth position in the last Premier League can be seen from the new players.
Arsenal bought five new players: Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira, and Matteo Guendouzi. Five of them came with different reasons: the team’s necessity and also the tradition to develop young players.
Emery, 46, has the plan how Arsenal will play in the 2018/2019 season and the future. He wants the team to play energetic, aggressive, with real style and character to represent the club identity.
“Each match, you are looking for every player to transmit intensity, aggression, to show that they want to win and are prepared to work hard to win. We want to do that with style, with a personality, with protagonists on the pitch,” said Emery quoted by Mirror.
“We want every player to create things and find things when they’re on the ball. When we are without the ball, we also want to show ambition to recover the ball quickly.”
“We want to demonstrate that not only in every match but also in every training session. We want our players to be energetic, full of action with or without the ball and as protagonists on the pitch doing things,” Emery uttered.
Seeing the high profile players in Arsenal squad like Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Aaron Ramsey, and Hector Bellerin, playing offensive and energetic like Emery wants won’t be just a dream.
