DBasia.news – Jack Grealish admits that he has not performed optimally at Manchester City. The 27-year-old plauer has now revealed the cause.

Manchester City signed Grealish from Aston Villa last summer. The Citizens are willing to spend £100 million to realize this transfer.

This amount has made Grealish break the Premier League transfer record. Understandably high expectations accompany his actions at Manchester City.

Unfortunately, Grealish failed to make up for the high price with a slick performance on the field. He was only able to record 6 goals and 4 assists from 39 matches in all competitions.

Entering the second season, Grealish shows no signs of improvement. So far he has only scored 1 goal in 6 appearances.

Grealish realized his performance at Manchester City was not as good as when strengthening Aston Villa. However, he admitted that he played a different role in the two clubs.

“I may not have played at the top of my game since moving to City. But I think I have shown it at a glance (on several occasions),” Grealish told Sky Sports.

“It’s completely different with Villa. I think with Villa I’m more free.”

When strengthening Villa, Grealish is the main star status. He was given the freedom to be the brain of the game The Villans.

He certainly couldn’t run a similar situation at Manchester City. Pep Guardiola as a manager does demand the players to carry out the tasks that have been arranged.

Indirectly, Grealish asked Guardiola to give him the freedom to return to peak performance. However, this expectation seems quite challenging to fulfill.
