DBasia.news – New player, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg had just made his Tottenham debut in a friendly match against Ipswich Town, Saturday (22/08) PM, where the hosts recorded a 3-0 victory. The midfielder also commented on his debut match with his new club.
The Denmark international player admitted that he made the right decision to join Tottenham Hotspur who have called the north London club an extraordinary place to continue in his career.
Hojbjerg was played to start alongside Harry Winks in midfield in the match which took place at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, playing for only about an hour, the midfielder’s appearance was quite convincing. Hojbjerg was not the only Spurs player to appear against the League One club but also goalkeeper Joe Hart who played in the second half.
The former Southampton captain expressed his happiness with what he had met during his first week at Tottenham.
“The players are all good, the coaching staff is fantastic, everyone around the team is very well prepared, so it feels really good,” Hojbjerg said through Tottenham’s media team.
“This is an environment where everyone wants to do even better, everyone is no exception, as humans but also sportsmen, footballers, this is an extraordinary place.”
His first experience playing at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium as a Spurs player left Hojbjerg in no doubt that he had made the right choice to join Jose Mourinho’s team.
Tottenham will face a busy schedule at the start of the 2020/21 season as they are expected to play nine games in 22 days as they are involved in the Premier League, Europa League and League Cup competitions.
“It was great, I came to the stadium a few hours before the game with the whole squad, it was great to be here and once again this is the right place,” he stated.
“The match went well, I think we took some good steps forward.
“We still have a lot to do but we try to do it every week, what the coach ordered, we tried to do it today and I think we had moments where we did well and some moments that should be even better.
“But fortunately this is the goal of the friendly match.”
