DBasia.news – Marcus Rashford’s talent was evident from his early days in the Manchester United academy and he has now developed immensely.
The forward has been a lifelong United supporter and has been at the club since he was seven years old.
He made his first-team debut in 2015/16 and has been a key figure since then, with his explosiveness and physical prowess making him a threat in most situations.
Off the pitch, Rashford has also been a vocal figure against racism, food scarcity and other social issues. He attempted to counter this with various campaigns such as providing school students and the homeless with necessary items which led to him becoming a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in October 2020.
But it’s his form on the pitch that most Man Utd fans will judge, so how many goals has he scored so far?
Rashford made his senior United debut in the 2015/16 season against Danish side FC Midtjylland in a Europa League last 32 tie and he marked the occasion by scoring twice in a 5-1 win.
He then scored against city rivals Manchester City to help United win the game, becoming the derby’s youngest ever goalscorer, overtaking Wayne Rooney.
The 2019/20 season was the most prolific of his career as he scored 22 goals in 44 appearances after signing a new four-year contract at the start of the campaign.
His commitment to the club is that he played through pain for nearly two years before undergoing surgery in 2021.
In 2022/23, he has equaled his tally from last season in just 13 games, having scored against Liverpool and Arsenal.
Rashford’s development with his country has also been rapid.
He was part of the England squad at Euro 2016 making his senior professional debut just four months earlier.
Since then he has represented England at the 2018, 2022 and Euro 2020 World Cups, and has now scored in double figures for the Three Lions.
