Previously, it was widely reported that Mbappe would head to Madrid on a free transfer. El Real is touted as the French player’s dream club.

However, PSG did not just give up. With their flagship weapon, money, Les Parisiens made an exorbitant offer. As a result, Mbappe chose to stay and signed a three-year contract.

“Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce the extension of Kylian Mbappe’s contract for another three seasons. The France international striker is now tied to the capital club until June 30, 2025,” PSG wrote in an official statement.

For Mbappe, this contract extension confirms that PSG is the best place to develop.

“I want to announce that I have chosen to extend my contract at Paris Saint-Germain. Of course, I am thrilled with that,” said Mbappe.

“I’m sure I can continue to develop here, in a club that provides all the means to perform at the highest level. I’m also elared to continue to develop in France, the country where I was born and grew up.”

Meanwhile, PSG owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, was thrilled. Nasser Al-Khelaifi believes Mbappe is an important part of the past and future of Les Parisiens.

“Since Kylian Mbappe joined our family, despite his young age, he has achieved miracles at all levels. By joining Paris Saint-Germain, he has become the cornerstone of the club’s project for years to come, on and off the pitch,” stated Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

To maintain Mbappe, PSG had to spend a hefty amount. Nicolo Schira reports, Mbappe will receive a salary of €50 million per season until 2025. That value has made Mbappe one of the highest-paid players in football history.

It doesn’t stop there, Mbappe also receives a signing bonus of €130 million. The amounts are increasing after the results of the self-image also reached 100% into Mbappe’s pocket.

In fact, now Mbappe can take part in making decisions from the management side. He can take on the role of coach, sporting director, or player. That means, Mbappe can eject or bring in players in the transfer market.
