DBasia.news –  Arsenal’s success in recruiting Nicolas Pepe from Lille makes the club legend, Ian Wright, happy. Wright called the success of Arsenal that there was something wrong with the previous management.

Arsenal spent 80 million euros to recruit Nicolas Pepe from Lille. Although paid in installments for five seasons, but that number proves Arsenal can compete in the transfer market.

According to Ian Wright, the stigma of Arsenal is a poor club and can not do much in the transfer market formed because of Ivan Gazidis – a former director who currently has moved to AC Milan. Wright is as happy as Arsenal can get a Pepe caliber player.

“I deserve to give credit to Raul Sanllehi and senior leaders at Arsenal. This is a very good business. Business like this that has been long missed from Arsenal,” said Wright as reported by Metro.

“We can just mention other fools who were previously here. However, I will not do it because I am in a positive condition right now,” he continued.

“This is the type of player that usually makes us say we hope we can get it. Yes, we can bring it. This is an impossible deal for us. It’s very brilliant.”

Nicolas Pepe was impressive last season. The Ivory Coast national team player scored 23 goals plus 12 assists. Ian Wright believes Pepe can show the same thing at Arsenal.

“He is a player who I believe can go to world level. I’m not saying this with excessive enthusiasm. I issued an opinion after seeing what he presented,” said Wright.

“He fills a lot of boxes in terms of goals and assists. However, for me, the most important thing is how he plays directly. We miss that. We miss players who can get past opponents in a one-on-one duel.”
