Ibrahimovic Comments on Manchester United’s Difficulty in the Premier League

DBasia.news – In his career Zlatan Ibrahimovic has played in Europe’s top leagues except the Bundesliga. Wherever Ibra played he always left with a trophy-winning success. Now Ibra plays at AC Milan.

His age in the second period with Milan has reached the head of four, aka 40 years. Ibra has scored more than 400 goals in his career and appeared in more than 100 games for the Swedish national team.

Ibra has played for Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Milan, PSG and Manchester United. The latter club is going through a difficult period at the moment which has led to the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Man United’s difficulties have been seen since 2013 after the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson. United experienced inconsistency in playing and changed managers from David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, and finally with Solskjaer.

Commenting on United’s difficulties, Ibra told the Guardian that the difficulties occurred because United talked too much and thought about past successes. According to him, United should focus more on the current situation rather than discussing the past and comparing it to the present.

“They (United) talk too much about the past. When I went there, I said, ‘I’m here to focus on the present and make my own story’,” explained Ibra, who played at United mid 2016-2018.

“But when you have too much it becomes like a loop that keeps repeating itself. You have to think about this moment or you have to go to the hospital and clear your head.”

Premier League Overrated

Overrated is an over-judgment of something. The assessment may or may not be in accordance with these expectations. And according to Ibrahimovic, the Premier League, which in fact is called the best league in the world, is an overrated league.

“The quality is overstated technically. But the Premier League has a different quality – speed, rhythm. You can be the best player in the world but if you can’t handle that pace and rhythm (you won’t make it).”

“In Spain, France, Italy, the technique is better. That’s why there are so many foreign players in the Premier League. They bring the technical (aspect).”

Ibrahimovic didn’t speak. During his two years with United, Ibra has a record 33 appearances with a score of 17 goals and five assists. It is worth remembering, Ibra came to the Premier League when he was over 30 years old. You can imagine if he came at a more prime age.
