DBasia.news – At the end of June, some Europe top players will be on their last contract with their current club. Some decide to leave and hold on, but some others haven’t taken any decision yet.
Marouane Fellaini is one of them. His contract with Manchester United will be over on June 30th, 2018. The club has offered a new contract because Jose Mourinho likes his playing character. But on the other hand, the 30 years old striker hasn’t decided to accept it or not.
Fellaini is now focusing on Belgia during 2018 World Cup. The contract situations made the other clubs stand in line to monitor him. One of them is Man United’s rival in the Premier League, Arsenal.
Pros and cons come along the rumor. For those who reject Fellaini’s appearance, they assumed that his character doesn’t fit Arsenal’s football philosophy. But some others agreed because Fellaini has great experience in England and probably contribute different way of play to Arsenal.
“You never really know what his best position is, Fellaini. I know he’s played as an attacking midfield, then he’s been a holding midfielder. But when people are on free transfers, it’s something different. Even if he didn’t start, he (Unai Emery, Arsenal’s manager) could bring him off the bench and if you’re chasing a goal, you might have to play a different style of football,” explained Ray Parlour, a legend of Arsenal, in Squawka.
“Whether Fellaini does, we’ll have to wait and see, but certainly he’s a player that you can change the system of play when he comes on, if it’s off the bench or if he’s starting the game.”
