I’m ready to help Harimau Malaya

DBasia.news – Pahang’s import player, Mohamadou Sumareh, expressed his willingness to wear Malaysia’s jersey when he receives a ‘green light’ from the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
The Gambia-born player has also announced that he has received Malaysian citizenship and is just waiting for the time to be called to strengthen the Harimau Malaya squad.
“That’s a good thing and because FAM has given a green light for me to join the national team, I’m ready.
“When I get to know this, I’m very happy that this is the best chance to help Malaysia but still wait and see what’s the country’s coaching team’s decision.
“I also have a citizen identification card so all the further decisions are up to them (national squad), but if asked, I’ll be ready,” he said when met here.
Earlier, the FAM granted approval for the 23-year-old import player to join the national team under Tan Cheng Hoe.
FAM president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin informed that according to the procedures set by the International Football Federation (FIFA), any player who has been living for more than five years and holding an international passport of a country can join the national team.
Pahang coach Dollah Salleh, meanwhile, commented on the matter, saying he personally fully supported his main milestone in the national team.
“That’s what we expect, he (Sumareh) himself can not wait to play with the squad.
“Personally I welcome and look forward to it and I think it’s likely that it will help strengthen our squad,” he said.
